The fundamental principle on which TEn is based from a broking point of view is that we are ‘client led’. This means that we are committed to understanding and optimising the client’s preferences in respect of the need for cover whilst trying to accomodate any sensitivity over price.
We are less concerned than some other organisations about the relative commissions paid to us by respective insurers on our panel. We believe that this approach leads to and secures client loyalty, which is ultimately a lot more valuable (and profitable) than the odd 2% here and there.
As the TEn network model is all about enabling the client to deal with the local guy they know and trust, then to behave other than in the manner described above would be both contradictory and hypocritical... which we try not to be.
The Broker's Function
The service offered by a broker to the client is essentially that of a professional advisor and an advocate on the client’s behalf. It is not always to obtain the cheapest quote for new business or at renewal, unless expressly instructed to do so.
For the most part it is the role of any broker to understand the client's needs and preferences and, to some extent, interpret the client's wishes to achieve a satisfactory balance between protection and cost. It is also part of the broker's function to assist the client in the eventuality of a claim.
And, of course, to jump when the client says..."jump"!


Range of products
TEn can access products across almost the entire spectrum of client needs, for General and Commercial insurances. When we cannot, then we will say so very quickly!
At this point, rather than fully list the 100+ classes of insurance that we can do, or provide a cut-down list of the 25 that we most commonly do and in either case run the risk of not mentioning something important to a specific visitor.
Consequently, it ought to be a lot clearer if we say what we don’t do:-
PRIVATE CAR INSURANCE – we don’t do that directly, although we have an outsourcing arrangement with The Outright Company Ltd. who handle this type of insurance on our behalf. Equally, motorbike and caravan insurance are specialised areas that we are not set-up to handle from our offices.

TEn has agency arrangements with over 100 insurers, ranging from the largest national and international brands, through to smaller - but no less respected - niche players who specialise in both common and unusual classes of business.
In effect, we are set-up to widest range of product options for every client and for every quote.
This multiplicity of markets helps to ensure that for almost every type of case, our Broker Technicians can usually respond successfully to a local broker’s request (on the client’s behalf) for the correct cover at a competitive price.
